Join me for Culture night on Friday the 18th of September 2026 for a joyful session. I’ll be delivering an intergenerational stitching workshop celebrating the abundance, stories and traditions of the harvest season in Greystones Library from 4 to 5.30pm (please call the library directly on 01-2873548 to book your place).
Anyone from the age 10 yrs old upwards in invited (teens must have a participating guardian with them) to come and sit together around the table, share stories and memories while creating a small piece of textile art using embroidery, needle felting and simple sewing techniques. No previous experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try!
This workshop reconnects us with those traditions away from technology. Older generations can share stories of sitting around a table with grandparents, knitting, sewing or making lace by candlelight, while younger generations discover these skills and stories for themselves.
I will then reach the Ballywaltrim Library in Bray from 6 to 8pm where I’ll be supporting my wooly muse @sharonwellsart (second image on this post is her wonderful art) for a wonderful wool extravaganza with many things on show and I’ll be at the needle felting station showing you how it all works…can’t wait!
Come along for a stitch, share, learn, laugh and create something beautiful together….
Hope to see you there …ciao!
